Shipping and Delivery

At Sofa Bed & Beyond, we partner with specialized freight carriers to ensure your furnishings arrive safely and with the care they deserve. Because furniture delivery differs from standard parcel shipping, we’ve outlined everything you need to know below to help set clear expectations and ensure a smooth experience.
Order Processing

For in-stock items, most orders are prepared and scheduled for carrier pickup within 3–5 business days after your order is placed.

For backordered items, we will provide an estimated warehouse arrival date at the time of purchase whenever available. If there are any changes to that estimated arrival, we will notify you with updates.

In most cases, the shipping fee charged per order covers one combined delivery. This means that when an order contains backordered items, the shipment will typically be scheduled once all items are available. If you prefer to receive in-stock items sooner, split shipping may be arranged for an additional shipping fee.

Estimated Delivery Timeframes

After carrier pickup, typical transit times for White Glove deliveries are:

  • East Coast & nearby regions: approximately 2–3 weeks
  • West Coast & surrounding regions: approximately 3–4 weeks

Remote or less accessible locations may require additional time.

All delivery timeframes are estimates and may vary based on location, carrier schedules, weather, and seasonal volume. Guaranteed delivery is only available when specifically quoted and confirmed in writing.

Delivery Options

We offer several delivery methods so you can choose what best fits your needs:

White Glove Delivery*

Our most comprehensive service. Your order is brought into your home, placed in your room of choice (up to two flights of stairs), unpacked, assembled, and all packaging debris is removed. A delivery appointment is scheduled in advance.

* White Glove service may not be available in all areas.

Ground-Level Threshold Delivery

Your order is delivered to the first covered and accessible area of your property, such as a front entrance, lobby, or garage. Assembly and packaging removal are not included.

Commercial Delivery

Designed for commercial buildings with proper loading/unloading docks or forklifts.

Palletized Delivery (Upon Request)

If you prefer your cartons to be palletized for additional stability during transit, this can be arranged through a custom shipping quote.

Time-Sensitive & Expedited Shipping

If you have a specific delivery deadline, please contact us before placing your order. Expedited and, in some cases, guaranteed shipping options may be available for certain ZIP codes and are provided through custom quotes. These services typically apply to threshold delivery rather than White Glove.

What to Expect on Delivery Day
  • An adult (18+) must be present to receive and inspect the delivery.
  • Please ensure doorways, hallways, elevators, and stairwells are clear and accessible.
  • We do not offer removal or haul-away of existing furniture.
Inspection & Shipping Insurance

All shipments are insured. To ensure coverage:

  • Any damage or issue must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
  • For White Glove deliveries, please inspect items carefully and note any visible damage on the delivery receipt before signing.
  • We strongly recommend taking photos of both the damage and the signed delivery receipt.
  • Send all photos and details to our support team so we can assist promptly.
  • Once documentation is received, we will review and determine the appropriate resolution.
Additional Fees & Special Access Situations

Freight carriers may apply additional charges in certain situations. These fees, if incurred, may be passed through at the carrier’s cost.

Examples include:

  • Storage fees if delivery appointments are repeatedly delayed or cannot be completed
  • Re-delivery fees for missed appointments
  • Locations with multiple flights of stairs or difficult access
  • Buildings without a usable freight elevator
  • Long carry distances from truck to entrance
  • Limited-access or restricted-delivery locations

If your building requires a COI or has special delivery rules, please notify us before shipment moves so we can coordinate in advance.

  • Measure doorways, hallways, elevators, and stairwells before ordering.
  • Confirm building delivery requirements ahead of time.
  • Respond promptly when the carrier contacts you to schedule delivery.
